KFUM Oslo's Norwegian Cup third-round tie against Viking has been postponed by four months. The match, originally scheduled for 28 October 2026, will now be played on 28 February 2027 following a decision by the Norwegian Football Federation.

The move was confirmed by the NFF's communications advisor, Christer Madsen, on behalf of competition director Nils Fisketjønn. The rescheduling is a result of a congested fixture list and adjustments required for the Champions League calendar.

Bodø/Glimt's cup match against Sandnes Ulf has also been moved to the same February date. This creates a nearly five-month gap between the first and last matches of the cup's third round, with the rest of the fixtures still being played in October as planned.

For KFUM Oslo, the delay means their cup campaign is put on hold while the team focuses on the Eliteserien. The club currently sits 10th in the table with 25 points from 21 games. They are on a two-game winning streak in the league, having beaten Aalesund and Sarpsborg 08 in their most recent outings.

The immediate focus shifts to a home league match against Vålerenga this Sunday. The last meeting between the sides ended in a 2-2 draw back in May. With Vålerenga currently 12th, it's an important fixture for KFUM Oslo to continue their positive momentum. Check the squad list and standings for more details.

This is the second season of the cup's new format, which starts in autumn and concludes with the final in May. The NFF has acknowledged criticism over calendar congestion in the 2026 season, particularly for top-flight clubs. KFUM Oslo must now wait until next year to pursue a place in the fourth round.
