KFUM Oslo have secured the services of young Nigerian winger Promise Meliga Jr. The transfer from Vålerenga was valued at €200,000 and completed on September 2nd. The 19-year-old has signed a contract that runs until the end of the 2030 season.

The club currently sits in 13th place in the Eliteserien with 19 points from 18 matches. They have scored 20 goals and conceded 31, giving them a goal difference of -11. Their most recent result was a 4-1 defeat to Start on August 30th.

Promise Meliga Jr arrives at KFUM Oslo after featuring for Vålerenga in the Eliteserien this year. He made nine league appearances for the capital club, scoring three goals. The winger, who is left-footed and typically plays on the right, also contributed three goals in two matches in the Norsk Tipping-Ligaen avdeling 1 this season.

His arrival provides manager Geir Bakke with a new option in attack. Meliga Jr has shown he can be effective with limited minutes, as many of his appearances for Vålerenga came from the bench. With a market value of €700,000, he represents an investment in the future for KFUM Oslo.

The young Nigerian moved to Norway in August 2025 when he signed for Vålerenga from Remo Stars Youth Academy. He spent part of the 2025/26 season on loan at Kristiansund BK before returning to Vålerenga in July this year. The move to KFUM Oslo marks his third club change in Norway within 18 months.

Prior to his move to Norway, Meliga Jr played for the Remo Stars youth side. In the 2023/24 season, he won the Viareggio tournament with them. His record in Norway this year totals six league goals across the Eliteserien and Norsk Tipping-Ligaen, plus one appearance in the domestic cup.

The team's next challenge is an away match against Molde, who are fourth in the table, on September 6th. This follows two consecutive losses, which have placed the team in a challenging league position. They trail league leaders Bodø/Glimt by a full 25 points.

The injury list still includes Ayoub Aleesami, Magnus Wolff Eikrem, and Robin Rasch. This highlights the need for reinforcements, which Meliga Jr is now expected to help provide. The team's recent form shows they have lost their last two matches.

The match against Molde will be a tough test for a side in need of points. With an attack that has struggled for consistent goals, Meliga Jr will hopefully provide a fresh spark. The game is part of a key period in the season for KFUM Oslo.

Fans can follow the team's upcoming fixtures for the full schedule ahead. Promise Meliga Jr's contract runs until December 31st, 2030.
